Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Lead frontend initiatives and influence architectural decisions that shape the future of our customer-facing platforms.
- Global Delivery & Collaboration: Drive engineering excellence across a distributed 24/7 engineering culture. You will take a lead role in breaking down complex work packages and collaborating effectively with worldwide teams to ensure seamless delivery across time zones.
- AI-Augmented Engineering: Lead the team in adopting an AI-first workflow. You will champion the use of tools like Claude and Cursor to accelerate development, while maintaining a deep understanding of their applications, limits, and safety profiles.
- Design, build and launch new data extraction, transformation and loading processes.
- Support our Marketplace and Search engineering teams in solving challenging big data problems.
- Create and maintain star-schema data model, transforming application and third party data model into a structure for our data warehouse.
- Assist analysts across finance, operations, customer service and marketing in understanding their data set and using our BI platform.
- Build integrations within infrastructure and to 3rd party systems (e.x. Salesforce, Marketo, AWS, Facebook, Google).
- Identify valuable data within 3rd party systems with stakeholders, planning and developing integration to leverage for insights and actions.
- Optimize large complex queries to reduce run time and improve efficiency.
Requirements
- Strong dbt experience, including dbt Core and dbt Cloud: building models (staging, marts), writing tests, managing sources and exposures, documenting models, and running CI/CD in dbt Cloud (jobs, environments, deferral, deployments).
- Experience using tag management systems such as Google Tag Manager (GTM) and Tealium iQ to deploy and maintain web tracking.
- Working knowledge of JavaScript for implementing and debugging tracking tags (custom events, variables, triggers, consent-aware firing).
- Proven ability to QA new tags end-to-end: data layer, tag firing, network payload, collection endpoint, and downstream pipelines.
- Ability to validate tracking data through to the warehouse: event schema, IDs, dedupe logic, session stitching, and expected volumes.
- Strong troubleshooting across analytics instrumentation using browser dev tools, network inspection, and log-based validation.
- Experience with data infrastructure and infrastructure as code.
- Experience with Airflow (2.X, minimum) and managing ETLs.
- Experience building data infrastructure on top of cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Previous work within a data warehouse (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
- Highly skilled in SQL, templating languages (such as Jinja), ETL across various formats (csv, sql, json).
- Experience supporting cloud-based BI tools (Mode, Looker, Tableau).
- Experience with data orchestration technologies (Airflow, Luigi, Prefect, etc).
Nice to Have
- Understanding economics and the data landscape of marketplaces and e-commerce.
- Experience with our specific platform (AWS/ECR) and specific production databases (Postgres, Elasticsearch, Neo4).
