About the Role

Being in growth phase, we are looking for experienced professionals who can be part of the journey.

Responsibilities:

Lead data architecture design including ingestion, transformation, storage, and consumption layers for scalable data platforms.
Design, build and launch new data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL/ELT) processes for structured, semi-structured and unstructured data.
Create and maintain data models (star schema or equivalent), transforming source data into warehouse-ready structures.
Build and manage data pipelines on cloud platforms including AWS and/or Azure, leveraging native services for storage, compute and orchestration.
Manage and optimise data orchestration workflows using tools such as Apache Airflow or equivalent schedulers.
Champion the adoption of Generative AI tools to accelerate engineering workflows, automate documentation and improve data quality processes.
Build integrations within internal infrastructure and with third party systems such as Salesforce, AWS, and other cloud or SaaS platforms.
Optimize large complex queries to reduce run time and improve efficiency across the data platform.
Lead technical design reviews, sprint planning and architecture discussions with cross-functional teams.
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, drive code reviews and enforce data engineering best practices.

Requirements:

Advanced SQL skills with hands-on experience optimising large and complex queries in production environments.
Proficiency in Python for data engineering and pipeline development.
Proven experience designing and delivering ETL/ELT pipelines handling structured, semi-structured (JSON, Parquet, XML) and unstructured data.
Strong hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS or Azure), leveraging native services such as Glue, S3, Redshift, Azure Data Factory, ADLS or Synapse; GCP exposure is a plus.
Previous work within a cloud data warehouse such as Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, Azure Synapse or BigQuery.
Experience with data orchestration technologies such as Airflow, Prefect or equivalent, and familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tooling.
Practical experience using Generative AI or AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor or LLM-based code assistants in an engineering workflow.
Strong understanding of data security, access control and governance principles.
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have:

Familiarity with data lakehouse formats such as Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake or Apache Hudi.
Exposure to MLOps practices and tooling for productionising machine learning pipelines.
Cloud certifications in AWS, Azure or GCP data engineering tracks.
